Cafe Spotting #6: Crisp Cafe
Crisp’s so cool you’d think you’re in Manhattan. A racy mural bears lissom-lined figures. But slimness is a fat hope after Cordon Bleu chef Pooja Srinivasan’s (who has also launched a cafe in Dubai) voluptuous cake-shakes and plush-as-a-red-carpet red velvet pancakes. Then I see a slender lass with the crispest waist and pointiest stilettos teetering out, fudge-laden. Chennai has streamlined. As my fork punctures another oil-quenched curry-leaved French fry, I recall how heifer-like dimensions were until late but feminine norm here.
