Social Entrepreneur: Karan Chopra
Forbes described their brightest youngest stars of 2014 as ‘founders and funders, brand builders and do-gooders.’ Karan Chopra, a young 29-year-old Harvard graduate (an Indian origin lad who grew up in Ghana) who co-founded GADCO, was one such star. The objective of Chopra’s business is to help Ghana’s poorest farmers reap higher profits by providing seeds and fertilisers, buying their crops and selling them in a global supply chain. Prior to this the global desi spent three years at Mckinsey where he was awarded the social sector fellowship. Chopra is often seen in khetis with collar tees and chinos. At times he is seen wearing a zipper sweatshirt over his simple attire.
