No one has ever told wedding planner Amarjyot Singh that they want a simple wedding. When it comes to Indian marriages, he knows that more is always less

Four years ago, Amarjyot  Singh was just another Delhi boy handling his family’s business. Then came the time when he organised a friend’s wedding and realised how much he enjoyed planning the details. From pre-wedding showers to post-wedding functions, everything turned out to be perfect. “I realised I was really good at it and decided to take it up as a profession so that I could plan more interesting weddings with different concepts.” That’s how his company AdamandEveInc was born.

Nuptial hospitality entails a lot. “The hosts want to make sure that all their guests are well taken care of and the gesture lies in the smaller details like booking hotels and resorts, placing wedding collaterals, setting a hospitality desk at the venue, following up on ground transportation and also arranging sightseeing tours and excursions,” says Amarjyot who is busy planning the upcoming Oswal wedding in Jodhpur.

His mind is constantly engulfed with wedding thoughts. “Even when I am out doing a small chore, I think about ideas. Movies, interiors, dresses…I see concepts in them all. Everyone wants their D-day to be classy and subtle, not bling but what’s important is that wow factor. My team and I design a concept and then tailor-make it around the needs and requirements suiting the client’s budget and ideas.”

Professional hazard? “I feel I am married to my work,” he laughs.
