Verve and Louis Vuitton revisit the charming city of Kolkata to catch up with eight charming women, and discover their love for fashion, diamonds, high heels, eye-catching arm candy and much more…

Having hosted the Belgian designer Dries Van Noten in the city, it goes without saying that Vibha knows all about style. Dressed sharply in her Dries dress and shoes, she slings her Louis Vuitton on her arm with the confidence of a woman who means business. Yet she claims she is not a very brand-conscious person. “I prefer comfort to fashion any day,” she explains. “Running an export house requires me to dress in smart formals during the day, but I do take out my dresses for an event or a night out. My style is more vintage with an underlying modern tone. Amongst the Indian designers, I love Rajesh Pratap Singh for his cuts and simplicity. Which is why a Louis Vuitton bag goes well with my personality! I like to keep my look uncluttered with functionality at the helm of it. Kolkata, as a city, is very art and design-conscious, yet lacks a sense of expression like a Mumbai or Delhi. There is a gradual shift where not just the younger lot but even the 50-plus women are becoming more aware of labels and international fashion,” she adds. “We are getting globalised, not westernised.”
