Cruising Along With Ridhima Sud
She shared screen space with some of the industry’s finest stars in her breakthrough film, Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do. In her first film, she played a freewheeler who has been stood up, and audiences eventually see her character falling in love with her family’s arch enemy. On playing the peppy Noorie, Ridhima Sud says, “I can relate to having your heart broken and to falling so deeply in love that you don’t care about what the world thinks”.
Having travelled extensively around the world — France, Florence, New York, Beirut, Argentina, Brazil — there is no doubt that this girl, fluent in French and Italian, has more than a few highlights in her life. Her first stint before the camera was an advertisement for Kaya Skin Clinic during a winter break from college. With a girl crush on Tina Fey, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lawrence, Ridhima’s dream role is to play James Bond. The eccentric 20-something grabs my attention by sharing how if she wasn’t an actor, she “would still be trying to do something that would ultimately allow me to add value to society”.
On constructive criticism and compliments, she’s received a handful — the ones that stood out were from Javed Akhtar and director Zoya, which she chooses to keep to herself. With some exciting projects in the pipeline, she hopes to once again shine on screen before the end of this year.
