Zia Mody
58, Legal Mastermind

Among India’s most prolific legal eagles, Zia Mody has always affirmed that nothing should come in the way of one’s ability to work. Driven, she has to her credit some of the country’s biggest deals. Former Attorney General Soli Sorabjee’s daughter studied law at Selwyn College, Cambridge University and Harvard Law School. After spending five years with Baker & McKenzie in New York, she returned to India and started her own practice in 1984. She has been a recipient of the Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence in the Businesswoman of the Year category and has been named one of India’s 100 Most Powerful CEOs by The Economic Times. Her work, 10 Judgements That Changed India, shows us how the Supreme Court has played its role of being the ultimate interpreter of the Constitution.
