Nandini Shenoy seamlessly mixes fashion with Bollywood in Pinkvilla whose online presence is a hit with B’town and its followers

“I have always been very passionate about Bollywood. When I was growing up, our dinner table conversations always centred around films and stars and that is how my passion for Bollywood was fuelled,” says Nandini Shenoy, who was born and brought up in Mangalore. She started her career as a software engineer at Microsoft, Seattle in 2004.

From Microsoft to Pinkvilla in 2007 was an odd, yet natural, progression for Nandini because it combined both her passions – software and Bollywood. She adds, “At that time, there was no site where people could express their opinions about the industry and its stars. I felt there was a strong need to build a community around Bollywood and Pinkvilla filled the void. The concept really hit it big as fans loved the space to discuss their favourite star with others. Today Pinkvilla boasts of over a 100,000 posts contributed by Bollywood enthusiasts.  Newspapers and news channels pick up the latest updates from the site. Celebs and their PRs also visit the site with requests for getting featured.”
