Vanity Case

After an impressive debut in Rock On followed by a string of Bollywood films, Prachi Desai has come a long way. Her beauty must-haves…

TREASURED BEAUTY LESSON…
You can experiment with different eyeshadows or stick to your favourite colour, and the same applies to lip colours. But one product that can make or break your face is the foundation. It’s the most elementary but the most difficult step in doing your own make-up. The right foundation (which in my case is M.A.C. Studio Fix) gives a dewy, fresh feel to my face.

A BEAUTY BRAND THAT EVOKES NOSTALGIA…
Incidentally it’s Neutrogena. I remember my cousins getting the make-up remover wipes for me from the United States. It was around the time I was doing television and these wipes gently removed tons of make-up in a jiffy. Gradually I started using more of their skincare products as they suited my skin perfectly.

A PEEK INTO MY VANITY DRESSER…
I am a beauty junkie. Whenever I am at the airport I just can’t stop myself from buying pretty colour cosmetics. I recently bought a sparkly gold Chanel eyeshadow which is so blingy that I doubt if I can ever use it but I just fell in love with it. But at any time my vanity dresser will be teeming with eyeshadows from M.A.C., Dior and Chanel. Mildly fragrant YSL lip gloss with gold flakes, Lancôme Cherry Rock lip gloss, M.A.C. foundation, Ferragamo facial mist and Bobbi Brown blush are all-time favourites.

FAVOURITE ON-SCREEN LOOK…
The dewy freshness of hairstylist Gauri in I, Me Aur Main is my favourite. The almost nude look was thanks to a great foundation, flesh-toned eyeshadows and chapstick. My make-up artist stayed away from lipsticks and lip liners and dramatic eyeshadows. A hint of blush gave my cheeks a healthy glow. For once I feel I was looking my age on-screen. Feathers, ribbons and scarves in the hair hinted at Gauri’s bohemian side.

MOST PRECIOUS BEAUTY ACQUISITION…
It is a tiny vintage wooden side table to hold my beauty products. It is elegant and indulgent, and its presence in my bedroom makes me feel like a princess

HEAVEN SCENT…
I love trying out new fragrances but Gucci Envy is the one I keep coming back to.

BEAUTY FETISH…
I can’t move without applying some chapstick or gloss even at home.

BEAUTY ICON…
Audrey Hepburn. She was breathtakingly beautiful in every frame but never overdone. Very sexy yet exuded innocence. Every time I watch Breakfast At Tiffany’s she looks even more gorgeous.
