I believe in simplicity and I wanted my wedding gown, with a long train, to spell the same. I left it entirely to my mother (Nazli Jaffer), who is a reputed jewellery designer in London, to get an elegant white gown for me.

My mother approached Rina to create an outfit with a simple brief that the English wedding gown should reflect an Indian sensibility. Rina came up with a beautiful design with a choli that was a corset-like bodice adorned with crystal florets. The motifs looked like jewels that had been embellished on the bodice and the chinar leaf buttis in chikankari were scattered all over the skirt panels. I loved the outcome and couldn’t thank Rina more for creating just what I wanted.
