The setting was perfect – Portofino, the Italian fishing village and upmarket resort famous for its picturesque harbour and historical association with global A-listers. This time, it was almost as if friends were meeting after a long interval in its beautiful locations, so relaxed was their interaction and body language. What gave the celebrities away was the fact that they were instantly recognisable! The group, comprising silver screen stars Cate Blanchett, Christoph Waltz, Ewan McGregor, Emily Blunt and Zhou Xun, and, earlier models Karolina Kurkova and Adriana Lima, made several heads turn as they effortlessly showed off their best poses in front of Peter Lindbergh’s camera.

Dressed in tuxedos and elegant gowns, the friends of IWC Schaffhausen were spotted in Portofino as they leisurely made their way through the magnificent gardens of the former abbey La Cervara, watched fishing boats gently rocking in the harbour – and also went for a ride on an attractive Riva motorboat. All this and more went into their shoot for the brand’s new range of Portofino Midsize watches that was captured by celebrated lensman, Peter Lindbergh. Their starry presence morphed the fishing village into a modern, yet nostalgic, luxurious, yet reserved world in which the elegant timekeepers made their appearance. Lindbergh’s shoot was infused with a great deal of creativity and feelings.

The campaign has showcased the new Midsize collection from the brand that now makes the Portofino line from IWC Schaffhausen attractive to watch lovers who prefer a slightly smaller and more luxurious timepiece.

And Goris Verburg, director, marketing and communication, IWC Schaffhausen, says, “Continuing a long tradition, the Portofino Midsize collection responds to a current market trend, but at the same time draws on our past.”
