Fendi Cruise Collection 2016 Decoded
Karl Lagerfeld’s newest obsession over the bird-of-paradise has been translated onto Fendi’s Resort collection. The heavy leather and fur panels that we saw in the Fall Winter collection have been conveniently ditched for sundresses, reversible jackets and cool denim non-denims.
But the scrawny motif earned its rightful place on the fashion scene, as it did on the silk sundress and the yellow full skirted-smock. Fendi, known for its technological innovation, outdid itself with dual fabrics. Denims looked like denims but felt softer and lighter, and sherling was made to look like denim. This denim illusion was complemented by reversible jackets and the new light bulb motif, giving Fendi its well-deserved eureka moment.
