Designer Focus: Rohit Bal
Another few years and Bal could become a synonym for grandeur. The design marvel has always surprised one and all with his unique ideations and splendid ways that can be matched by none. His grand finale show set-up and live music was not less than overwhelming and the clothes rose to the occasion to make it a larger-than-life experience. The signature Rohit Bal look and silhouettes overpowered the runway with an opening series of ivory ensembles. We totally loved the quilted peplum jacket paired with a tone-on-tone embroidered ghagra and a gold leaf embossed sari. These bridal fineries gave way to a vibrant range of ethnic wear for both men and women. Fabrics such as velvets and brocades added a sense of richness to the line. Amongst a gamut of tasteful designs and silhouettes, hand-block printed bandhgala jackets with jodhpurs for men and bright chanderi lehnga skirts made it to our favoured list. This exclusive showing of brilliance stands true to its representation of Indian craft and heritage.
