Designer Focus: Pankaj & Nidhi
With every showing, the talented two bring to the limelight an avant-garde concept that rules the fashion charts. This time too, they relied on their strengths to create edgy prints and laborious surface ornamentation. While the intricate period inlay work on cape dresses, crop-tops, sheer jackets and mid-length skirts seemed like a carry forward from their older collections, the newer twist to the technique with raised multi-pastel appliqués was worth a mention. Nonetheless, what really impressed us were the other two sections of modern silhouettes beautified with vintage prints and old-world beadwork given a contemporary edge. Printed tea-length skirts, understated culottes, embellished short dresses, high-waisted skirts and a structured white embellished cape were a few winners of the collection.
