‘Chanel dresses women for life’, said Karl Lagerfeld as he reconstructed the iconic French brasseries. Giving the scenario his own touch of modernity, Lagerfeld produced an extensive catalogue of creations that involved the ringard as the constant motif in the collection. According to the designer, this toe-capped mid-heel shoe, ‘has become the most modern of shoes and makes beautiful legs.’ The feminine-cum-androgynous looks saw an adequate portion of Chanel’s favourite tweed. We’re looking forward to stock up on the short box coats, slim cut leather pants and dresses painted with feathers.
