Chanel’s Cruise Diary 2015
With the futuristic megapolis skyline as the backdrop and Karl Lagerfeld’s signature extravagant artistry, Chanel conjured a gigantic rectangular hangar covered in the brand’s interlocking double C’s. Lagerfeld’s interpretation of oriental art in the form of three-piece suits, trompe l’oeil trousers, pleated blouses, jackets and boleros scored a high-five on the fashion report. There were also tunic tops hemmed in a sequinned version of the Dubai skyline, Aladdin-like slippers and intricate fretwork reminiscent of old Arabia. What truly enhanced the collection was the weaving of Eastern treasures into modern haute couture.
