Walking through Time And Tide, photographer Karan Kapoor’s solo show in Mumbai, is like walking into the pages of history. The exhibition, curated by Tasveer’s Nathaniel Gaskell, includes two series of works, one that chronicles the Anglo-Indian community of Bombay and Calcutta of the ’80s, and the second that takes a look at the Christians of old Goa. A documentation of people, cultures and homes, each photograph that’s part of Time And Tide is as arresting as the last, and stays with you long after a viewing. As the press note for the show says, ‘Kapoor’s black and white photographs showcase a remarkable fossilised window into their world, capturing the end of an era…’.
Time And Tide is on display at Tarq, Mumbai (F 35/36 Dhanraj Mahal, C.S.M. Marg, Apollo Bunder) until October 16, 2016
