From Amanda Plummer to Anushka Sharma, see cinema stars through Stephanie Cornfield’s lens

For those who swoon every time they see Patrick Swayze lift Jennifer Grey in the scene from Dirty Dancing, here’s some news – now you get the chance to see him serenading the skies in a ‘Titanic-esque’ pose. International photographer Stephanie Cornfield, in her latest show Vagabond Souls, presents a series of 25 unique photos of on and off-screen movie stars.

In the show, a part of the Focus Photography Festival 2015, one will be able to spot Anand Gandhi, the Ship of Theseus director shot in a narrow Dharavi lane, and also an image of Amanda Plummer of Pulp Fiction fame. Photos of cinema legends from all over the world, including Kevin Bacon, Joshua Oppenheimer, Kirk Douglas, Anselmo Vasconcelos, Tsui Hark, Shu Qi and John Hurt are a part of the series, as well as a self-portrait of Cornfield herself.

Says the photographer about her work, ‘From an early age I felt challenged by colour, motion, trends and especially faces. People say of my pictures that they are very cinematic, dreamy, and they capture the mystery of the moment’. And these mysterious, cinematic pictures can finally be experienced through this arresting show, curated by Jesal Thacker. Oh, and did we mention there’s a photo of Patrick Swayze too?

Vagabond Souls is on display at Percept Art, Mumbai (P2, Ground Level, Raghuvanshi Estate Compound, 11/12 Senapati Bapat Marg, Lower Parel) from March 12, 2015 to April 2, 2015.
