Of Films and Photos
If you’re headed to Europe and want a taste of films, consider a stop in Italy. To celebrate 10 years of its dedication to cinema, watch brand Jaeger-LeCoultre presents a special photography exhibition at the Venice International Film Festival. The retrospective behind-the-scenes show will give viewers a peek into the movie making processes of celebrated film-makers like Al Pacino, Spike Lee, Abbas Kiarostami and India’s very own Mani Ratnam (think Roja, Bombay and Saathiya’s Tamil inspiration, Alaipayuthey).
Says Daniel Riedo, CEO of Jaeger-LeCoultre, ‘Haute horlogerie and cinema share common values: both create dreams and a sense of wonder through aesthetic and technical mastery…they are all about two worlds infused with creative ingenuity.’ The film-makers – including Ratnam – will also be given the Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award.
The photo exhibition will take place in Venice Lido during the Venice International Film Festival, from September 2 to September 12, 2015.
