Actor and Musician: Imaad Shah
Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak’s son has inherited their genes and talent pool. There is a winning jugalbandi in Imaad Shah’s DNA that plays gently between films and music. Though Shah has acted in award-winning films like Little Zizou, his primary love appears to be music. He is part of the electro funk-group Madboy/Mink – he represents the Madboy half whilst the other half Mink is represented by his girlfriend Saba Ahmed with whom he shares a great chemistry on and off stage. He dresses like a confident rock star – with his mop of Indian curls, graphic tees and sunglasses hanging loosely. Sometimes, he is seen in quirky mismatches with striped shirts and checked pants and waistcoats. That last piece of clothing appears to be his favourite accessory. He reminds us of a young John Lennon. His view on Indian cinema is coloured by his theatrical background – he veers towards independent cinema as seen in the choice of films he has acted in like The Reluctant Fundamentalist. He is clearly a free thinker and a well-informed young man who refuses to take assistance, even from his own!
