Text by Wyanet Vaz. Assisted by Divya Rajsekhar

While hustling between Indian and international cinema, and battling various time zones, Nimrat Kaur divulges the secret to beautiful skin and hair. Also the brand ambassador for Wella’s new product range ‘Elements’, she tells us about her love for home-grown ingredients and all things beauty…

A hair ritual you follow…Amla and reetha as hair oil.”

3 beauty essentials… “My eyelash curler, M.A.C Dainty blush, Clinique mascara and Kiehl’s lip balm.”

Natural ingredients in your home… “Lemongrass and fresh mint.”

A hair trend you’re in love with… “Ombre has been around for a while now, I think that’s quite beautiful.”

Favourite hair colour… “The colour I have used right now, it is a beautiful brown. My natural hair colour is absolutely black, so it’s a beautiful change for me. I have done it for a film that is going to release soon.”

Your workout routine is… “A combination of ashtanga yoga, pilates and running.”

The secret to great hair… “Keeping it clean. Keep your diet strong, you must remember to nourish yourself, because hair grows out of your body, you’ll have to keep it well-nourished.”

The secret to great skin… “Great skin comes out of a state of happiness, good sleep and keeping stresses and worries away.”

An over-rated beauty tip… “To remove tan, we’ve all tried using tomato juice, but it doesn’t help. Any tip like this to get over a tan is over-rated. It eventually disappears over time.”

A celebrity hairstyle you adore… “I’ve always loved Dimple Kapadia’s hair. No matter how she styles her hair, she always looks gorgeous.”

The best spa you’ve been to… “This amazing spa in Jumeirah, Dubai.”

A beauty nightmare… “This one time I was getting ready and the make-up artist tried on very heavy eyes with very dark lips. It made me look like Lady Macbeth.”

What is your breakfast like? “Oatmeal porridge, avocado on toast seasoned with chilli flakes, two boiled eggs.”

And on a cheat day…“I would have a crepe at Suzette. And parathas on an absolute rock bottom cheat day.”

Travel destinations on your list… “South America, Bordeaux and Greenland.”

Best duty-free airport for beauty shopping… “Dubai!”

A usual shopping destination… “New York.”

Your new year resolution… “To be more disciplined and to drive slower.”
