Designer Focus: Payal Singhal
Her undying effort of contemporising Indian clothing makes for an interesting viewing each season. For Spring/Summer 2015, Singhal put together a great show that was short and sweet. The silhouettes were smart and crisp created with luxe fabrics such as silk, chanderi, organza and tulle in an understated colour palette of black and stone. While the print on the garments was the only new feature of this collection, the silhouettes referenced her last showing. But we still can’t help praising some ensembles that displayed Singhal’s excellence such as the chic pantsuit, the asymmetrical gown and the black long skirt with a metallic border.
