The Gold Club
Text by Wyanet Vaz
The 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, California showcased glitter-infested gowns and power couples in black and yellow (too strong to be a co-incidence). While George Clooney was humble enough to say that everyone’s a winner while he picked up his Cecil B. DeMille Award, we give you a list of the real winners who blew off the competition on the red carpet.

Jessica Chastain
Looking like an award herself, Jessica Chastain sported a bronze Atelier Versace halter gown. Props to her deeper-than-the-ocean neckline and fiery waves.
Kate Beckinsale
Adding the right amount of sparkle, Kate Beckinsale looked radiant in this Elie Saab taupe gown. With nude make-up, she let her natural glow do the shining.
Jennifer Lopez
Staying true to her bold style, JLo rocked this Zuhair Murad kaftan gown. The silver art deco-inspired number with a flattering slit did justice to her toned legs.
Felicity Jones
First look and you know it’s Dior. Felicity Jones flaunted her vintage side in this teal blue gown that was nothing short of queenly. We loved the Van Cleef & Arpels' earrings and the no-nonsense side swept updo.
Amy Adams
Playing it safe with a red carpet-friendly gown by Atelier Versace, Amy Adams added glamour to the ensemble with a deep side part and dainty jewellery.
Katie Holmes
This stunning aubergine gown from Marchesa would be in the running for colour of the day, if at all there was something like that. Katie Holmes styled it well with smokey eyes and a nude lip colour.
Dakota Johnson
The Fifty Shades of Grey star shimmered on the red carpet (literally) in a Chanel Couture gown. In minimal make-up and sultry waves, she flaunted her thigh-high slit and the obvious sex appeal.
Emma Stone
Throwing caution to the wind, Emma Stone showed up in a strapless jumpsuit by Lanvin. One of the most unexpected looks of the evening, she clearly delivered a red carpet version of ‘cool’.
Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson pulled off a stunner with this crisp Atelier Versace white gown and Forevermark drop earrings. She turned down the glitter level with mere stripes of sparkle.
Naomi Watts and Liev Schriber
Naomi Watts and Liev Schriber
Adding all the necessary sunshine, Naomi Watts looked sleek in this yellow gown from Gucci. She teamed it with a serpentine neckpiece and Liev Schriber worked as arm candy.
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum
All eyes on Channing Tatum who grabbed top spot as best dressed on the red carpet. Looking dapper in Dolce & Gabbana, Tatum was flanked by wife Jenna, who doubled the glamour in a soft yellow Carolina Herrera gown.
Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo

Hot couple alert! Victoria’s Secret supermodel Behati Prinsloo turned up in a Kaufman Franco gown and teamed it with Adam Levine on the side.
