Celebrating the French Connection

Feasting on magnificent views of the city skyline from a rooftop restaurant, Atout France, La Vallée Village and Jean-Claude Biguine Salon & Spa joined Verve to celebrate the spirit of fashion

“Today, we are celebrating the fashion and lifestyle of France,” stated Sheetal Wadhwa Munshaw, India director, Atout France. The occasion was Verve’s relaxed sundowner; and guests were transported to the hip La Vallée Village in Paris, one of the fashion capitals of the world. “It is an ultimate luxury shopping destination, a mall that’s home to more than 115 outlet boutiques of prestige brands.”

Especially for the evening, designer Amy Billimoria put together a resort collection dedicated to French empress Joséphine de Beauharnais and her love for roses. Gorgeous flowers decorated every nook and corner of Asilo, the open-air lounge at The St. Regis Mumbai in Lower Parel.

Models sashayed down the makeshift aisle in stunning asymmetrical mint blue and white creations, conceptualised by Alesia Raut. Besides working on their make-up and hair, Jean-Claude Biguine had another ace up their sleeves — tress sessions by Michel Balthazar, their creative technical director. Like a mane magician, he transformed unruly locks into sophisticated updos and braids while divulging quick tips and tricks to guests including Sameena Khan, Malti Jain, Parthip Thyagarajan and Namita Kumar.

Champagne flowed freely and delicious hors d’oeuvres ensured that everyone was in high spirits through the evening. The goodie bags given to invitees with delicious preserves from Bonne Maman meant that they were treated to French flavours even after the festivities came to an end!

A Real High
The event witnessed the launch of a new offer for Air France patrons. Present an Air France boarding pass to Paris from any city in India at La Vallée Village, and receive a VIP card with a 10 percent discount. One can also earn double Flying Blue Award Miles. Offer is valid for passengers travelling premium economy and business class between September 1 and December 31, 2016.
