Framing Flora
We’ve all been on those holidays when we’ve wanted to capture nature’s bounty in the perfect light, or take home in our cameras the best scenic view. Now, learn from master photographer Raghu Rai, whose latest show Trees includes both seen and unseen images of the flora around us.
‘Come spring, even the ancient banyan tree, unlike humans, transforms into a huge ball of tenderness. With newly sprouted petal-like leaves, it looks like a resplendent bride wearing fresh greens with buds above in shy pinks and blushing reds,’ says Rai about nature’s wonder – the greenery that surrounds us – and something that truly fascinates him. And it’s this beauty that he has attempted to capture through his lens, creating images that look almost like paintings.
Trees by Raghu Rai is on display at Art Alive Gallery, New Delhi (S-221, Panchsheel Park) until April 30, 2015.
