Age of Man

Text by Huzan Tata

A new art show depicts how nature is making way for the man-made

Is nature slowly becoming man-made? – This concern runs in many minds of today’s generation. And exploring this idea are several artists participating in a group show titled Earth Bound.

‘In a moment in which the future of the Earth haunts our present, the artworks are like infinitesimal interventions inviting the viewer to consider the implications of the Anthropocene – The Age of Man,’ says the press note for the exhibition.

Featured in the show are interesting, thought-provoking installations and works in mixed media by various artists including Rohini Devasher, Neha Choksi, Prajakta Potnis, Mahesh Baliga, Sandeep Mukherjee and the art group, Raqs Media Collective.

Earth Bound is on display at Project 88, Mumbai (BMP Building, Ground Floor, NA Sawant Marg, Colaba) until February 28, 2015.
