“Over the last couple of years, my ensembles have come to reflect the personality of the women they have been designed for. In keeping with this, my upcoming collection will marry traditional Indian details with versatile, contemporary silhouettes for the modern woman. It will also have elaborate looks for men – a category that I see evolving steadily.”

“I have used fabrics such as organza, satin, velvet, sheer imported single organza, double-toned silk and chiffon. The motifs and embroideries have been accentuated by the use of antique metallic threads, pearls and stones. I have also employed thread work that leads into the classic vintage zardozi category with a modern approach. Details such as handmade tassels and feathers woven on to the garments have taken months of skilled labour but I’m extremely satisfied with the outcome.”

“I have presented high fashion looks straight off the runway that showcase an ornate story of feathers, sequins, tassels, fringes, off-shoulder and cold shoulder styles reminiscent of the fearless flapper trend from 1920. Gowns with intricate details and flowy trains, cigarette pants paired with sherwani jackets, sheer capes and necklines, voluminous lehengas worn with cropped blouses and the use of non-traditional colours like metallic, aqua blue, lilac and salmon pink refer to a bride who refuses to be swayed by the trends of yore.
The modern groom is all about well-tailored kurta-salwars and bandhgalas along with drape-and-layer kurtas. These garments are augmented with the vigour of Indian botanical prints and the skilful elegance of chikankari in fresh summer hues.”
