13 Haute Watches For Every Fashionista

Text by Simone Louis

Verve presents the most fashionable timepieces from this year’s trendsetting watch fairs, plus a ‘smart’ round-up of the newest tech-happy tickers

SWAROVSKI
The ever-elegant crystal brand has gone bold and animalistic with the Octea Sport Zebra Rose Gold Tone Watch, featuring a modish colour combination and an outstanding zebra-stripe motif. The faceted black crystal bezel, black and rose gold PVD and the crystal pavé setting on the dial make for a real head-turner.

ULYSSE NARDIN
Flaunting feminine features and state-of-the-art technology, the Marine Chronometer Manufacture is an exquisite nautical timepiece. The mother-of-pearl dial and pastel indices are uber-trendy, while the fluted bezel adorned with diamonds gives the watch some extra oomph.

RALPH LAUREN
Finding inspiration in the legendary 1938 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic Coupe, the Ralph Lauren Automotive collection demonstrates the connect between the stylish and high-performance worlds of automobiles and watchmaking. The RL Automotive Skeleton boasts an open-worked, hand-wound mechanical movement and a ring of rare hardwood to emulate the richness of the Bugatti’s dash.

FENDI
Inspired by the fashion brand’s Resort 2015 collection, the Chameleon Fendi Roma makes a vivid impression. The white strap features bold colours, echoing the high-impact graffiti prints of Fendi’s funky new apparel.

GREUBEL FORSEY
Yes, the 3D globe dial of the Greubel Forsey GMT Black watch is the first thing one sees, but what’s more interesting is the fact that its titanium case is treated with vacuum-deposited ADLC (amorphous diamond-like carbon). The material not only creates a sleek look, but also a surface hardness significantly harder than that of natural titanium.
