What To Expect At SulaFest 2016

Text by Natasha Sahjwani

Here’s your guide to all the happenings at the 9th edition of the SulaFest…

It’s that time of the year again, when the crisp winter sun draws us to the serene environs of Sula vineyards in Nashik. With over 12,000 people hitting the festival last year, the two-day extravaganza returns to make your weekend a merry (and vinolicious) one.

Verve gives you the ultimate guide to this year’s SulaFest:

1.  Groovy escapade
Carry your dancing shoes for the much-anticipated The Cat Empire headlining the event. The jazz/reggae/funk/latin/gypsy/Cuban/Australian party music band will put you in the groove with its variant numbers. Other acts to keep your buzz going include Kailash Kher, Balkan Beat Box, Rick Watts, Edu Imbernon, Madboy/Mink and more.

2. Sweet indulgence
Looking to cool off for a bit?  London Dairy, Sulafest’s indulgence partner, has an Indulgence Zone (like we need more reasons, right?) which will have a chef creating lip-smacking recipes using signature flavours. Always wanted to know which ice cream goes with your vino? Take lessons at the booth with Sula’s sommeliers. What’s more? You’ll no longer want to sit on GOT”s Iron Throne when you see London Dairy’s Throne Of Indulgence.

3. Vinolicious serenade
Surrender yourself to Sula’s rich mix of wines, from the sparkling Brut Tropicale, velvety smooth Rasa Cabernet Sauvignon to the fruity aromatic Riesling. Be sure to also try the Hardy’s limited edition Chardonnay Semillion and Shiraz Cabernet. We know they will be your best companions through the weekend.

4. Gourmet flurry
While you are packing your bags, make sure you ditch your diet at home. With a selection of 30 gourmet pop-ups, such as Woodside Inn, Olive, BUSAGO among a few, there are a plethora of offerings to feast on. We’ve got our binge mode activated!

5. Buzzing bazaar
What’s a wine festival without some grape stomping? The SulaFest Bazaar has it all.  From party props to tank tops, home décor to accessories, you’ll be sure to pick up some knick-knacks. With around 20 stalls, the bazaar is where you’ll be crashing between gigs (if not the bar).

The festival takes place on 6th and 7th February at the Sula Vineyards, Nashik. Get all the information of the festival here:  www.sulafest.net
