When the Delhi based chic interiors studio La Sorogeeka was given the task of revamping the existing Presidential Suite in Hotel Ashok, New Delhi, on the eve of the Commonwealth Games, it was an inspiring project. The main task was to complete the work in a limited span of 45 days. La Sorogeeka, under the guidance of Anjali Goel, had a vision for the suite which translated into the renovated space where King Edward is supposed to stay in.

The massive 7000 sq ft Presidential Suite consists of a master suite, living area, dining area, a guest room along with a small study area. The beautifully carved main door is an eye-catcher. Tastefully done with a beige roller finish, the door combines the aesthetics of modern art work with old heritage craftsmanship.

The master suite is adorned with a befitting elegant bed and has a sitting and study area dotted with silver accessories that have delectable hints of red and green as accents. The beautifully engraved headboard simply takes your breath away with a carved silver cone work and decorative embellishments. These alluring accompaniments can be seen on the side tables as well.

The study table is screened off with a sitting area using a silver motif and crystal. While the classy silver lounger complements the low diwan sitting, the centre table has an very stylish black lacquer glass top with an etched motif pattern on it. The dazzling peacock feathers and red Afghani rugs comfortably counterbalance the shaded wall-to-wall woollen carpet in beige.

The living area follows a beige and aqua green colour scheme with silver highlights maintaining the complete grandeur of the suite. Zinc polish for the sitting area co-ordinates with the beige theme while the centre table base and carving of chair is highlighted with chic silver foiling.

Giving attention to minute details is apparent in the well-designed ambience of the suite. White Indian marble floors bordered with Udaipur green makes them look suitably plush and luxurious. Keeping the existing flooring in mind, the colour scheme of the dining area was created in beiges and counterbalanced in peach red.

All and all, the suite does full justice to the recreation of the magnificence and grandeur that totally befits royalty. Warm and welcoming, rich and regal!
