PA PA YA (COLABA)
The first word that comes to mind, as you masticate on a morsel of food at Pa Pa Ya, is flavour. Recently inaugurated in Colaba, owner Zorawar Kalra couldn’t have picked a better location for his restaurant since the Gateway of India is only a few seconds’ away — a walk you could definitely use after the meal you would be treated to.
Pa Pa Ya Colaba comes with interesting additions to the food menu as well as new cocktail offerings. Begin your meal with a refreshment like the thirsty ride or spicy delight. Follow it up with starters such as the pla samrot prawns, chicken paozu or the Asian margarita pizza. If you are a seafood fiend, you must try the Singapore chilli crab which is presented without the shell, ensuring you can dig right in.
If there is one dish that is absolutely unmissable, it’s the lamb rendang curry which comes with meat so succulent, it melts straight off the tip of your tongue. End your meal with their liquid hazelnut cake which dissolves into a puddle of chocolate as you make your way through it. Pa Pa Ya claims to have ‘super innovative presentations, the likes of which have never been seen before’ and, it more than delivers.
