Absolute Power: Nita Ambani

After education, sports and business, the wife of the richest man in India made a foray into the creative world last October. Her newest baby, the Reliance Foundation, has become a donor to many US museums that are hosting shows of Indian works. The Art Institute of Chicago (she’s part of the President’s Council there) had Nita Ambani to thank for the sponsorship of an exhibition of traditional Hindu paintings, and earlier this year, she was a part of The Met Breuer’s Nasreen Mohamedi show as its biggest patron. A trained Bharatanatyam dancer, Ambani also made her mark in the film universe after being appointed co-chairperson of the last Jio MAMI film festival.
