Upasana Kamenini practices philanthropy with flair

Who’d guess that the vice president of Apollo Charities is a 22-year-old? Upasana Kamineni, granddaughter of Apollo Hospitals chairman Prataph Reddy, is taking the family name forward by supporting various charitable initiatives such as Save a Child’s Heart (SACH) which, she proudly tells you, has “treated 3000 kids with cardiovascular problems free of cost,”  besides collecting a cool crore via its charity event that was held in Hyderabad. The animal lover has adopted six donkeys, three horses (one of which is blind), and an elephant. The fitness freak, who shed 30 kilos with her determination, loves cardio kickboxing during her lunch hour, the only time she gets. Project Hydrate, her current project, is Apollo’s new initiative to lead a healthier life by educating people about the importance of clean waterlines. Passionate about philanthropy, Upasana believes her life would have been wasted if she were not helping people who are suffering around her. Kudos.
