Enacting her favourite movie scenes in front of the mirror started the fire for acting in a young Tena Desae. A hundred ads, a critically acclaimed Bollywood film Yeh Faasley, and a Hollywood film opposite ‘Slumdog’ Dev Patel in her kitty later, this 24-year-old South Indian beauty is raring to go, with such enthusiasm that she wouldn’t shy away from facing the cameras even for a Chinese film!

Her upcoming movie, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, opposite the “cultured and additionally rooted” Dev Patel, is about a bunch of Brits coming to India to spend their twilight year. “A thrilling experience”, she learnt a lot from the talented team. “The major difference between Hollywood and us is that they are very particular about punctuality and one could be made accountable for being late by even 10 minutes!”

With a comic thriller opposite Zayed Khan coming later this year, this dusky lass has no inhibitions abut working in advertisements in the meantime simply because “that’s where I started my path to fame.”
