Power Shooter: Heena Sidhu Pandit

This Patiala girl has steadily been racking up the medals since she began practising shooting in 2006. Last year saw Heena Sidhu Pandit defeat three top-ranked shooters to set a world record that saw her make the cover of the International Shooting Sports Federation’s magazine, a first for an Indian shooter.

Preparing for further glory: She is to participate in the upcoming Commonwealth Games and has been gearing up rigorously with her husband and coach Ronak Pandit. Some atypical methods are in play, including getting her coach to chatter away relentlessly so she can train to drown out distractions.
