Bollywood debutante and our September cover girl, Pooja Hegde, talks to us about dating, and everything that makes a ‘real’ relationship

1. Crush history… “My first crush was on my technical drawing teacher. He was a pageant winner and everyone had the hots for him. It’s no surprise then, that I got 97 on 100 in that subject.”

2. No one knows that… “I am commitment phobic. A relationship scares me, because you get so involved and are vulnerable to somebody.”

3. Coping with breakups… “I just think that if a guy really wants to, he will do anything to be with you. Break-ups can be good, because they make you stronger. In worst case scenarios, I have a lot of ice cream.”

4. Relationship pet peeve… “Dishonesty.”

5. On your wish-list… “Someone who is honest, loyal, has a good sense of humour and is humble.”

6. An ideal man should… “Never compare you with an ex.”

7. Dream date… “David Beckham or Adam Levine.”

8. The ultimate wedding… “My wedding will be a week-long party. I don’t understand the idea of a really big wedding. I would want to have a celebration with people who are closest to me. It should not be so big that the wedding becomes a task.”

9. Location spotting… “I would love to get married in a palace in Udaipur or Jaipur. If it’s a beach wedding, then I would pick Bora Bora.”

10. Wedding wardrobe… “Sabyasachi, Manish Malhotra or Anamika Khanna. If I’m doing a gown, then Shantanu & Nikhil and Gaurav Gupta.”

11. Hero in your life… “My mom. Her emotional support always helps me get out of trouble or sticky situations.”

12. Relationship advice… “The concept of an ideal relationship doesn’t exist. That’s why there’s another word called ‘real’. Flaws are what makes a relationship stronger.”

13. Life hack… “Chocolate is my weakness. If I’m angry the best thing to do is give me some chocolate.”

14. Happily ever after… “I’d like to believe in fairytales. I work in the hindi film industry and we run on happy endings. I imagine mine to be with a handsome man, in a beautiful mansion, with dogs.”
