Text by Zaral Shah

She may be known for being the owner of the IPL team Mumbai Indians, but here’s how she recently made history…

Nita Ambani
51, Humanitarian Empress

Owner of the Mumbai Indians IPL team and newly elected member of the Reliance Board, Nita Ambani brought cheer to the lives of 17,000 underprivileged children by giving them ringside seats at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium this season. The corporate czarina wears her heart on her sleeve at Project Drishti, even as she fulfils her role as founder and chairperson of the Dhirubhai Ambani International School. In June, last year, she took her place on the board of husband Mukesh Ambani’s mighty oil and gas giant Reliance Industries. The first woman ever to be on the board, she is also a qualified teacher and an interior designer.
