Verve Wedding Diaries #29: Why You Should Know Graphic Whiz Nasha Mehta

Text by Simone Louis

Her thoughtful approach and sophisticated aesthetic will make all your design dreams come true!

Who: Nasha Mehta
From: Design By Nasha

“The best weddings reflect the couples’ personalities from beginning to end,” she states, knowing that it’s something she can definitely help achieve. A graduate from the Rhode Island School of Design, the owner of graphic design studio, Design By Nasha, constantly draws inspiration from her roots. Growing up in Pakistan and living in New York City and Mumbai exposed her to the best of fashion, art, architecture and photography, but it was her art aficionado mother who had a major influence on her. “As a child, I would often be taken to galleries in Karachi, on shopping excursions for fabrics and occasional trips to the bazaars. And as a Parsi, I was surrounded by traditions like chalk patterns at the entrance to our home and the intricate weave of the gara sari,” Mehta says.

It was after designing her own wedding card that this travel and culture enthusiast truly found her calling. From ‘save the date’ cards to table numbers and menus, her designs are anything but ordinary, embodying soft elegance, bold sophistication and a contemporary aesthetic. “I enjoy the creative challenge that comes along with every couple I work with,” she says. “Everyone has such a different vision for their big day, so it’s fun to be a part of the process and help make it a memorable one.”

Trend Talk
Attention to detail: “Thoughtful items like a welcome bag upon arrival at a destination wedding or a hangover kit after the party can really elevate a wedding.”

Branding: “More and more people are looking at their weddings like a brand project. It’s not only about the invitation; it’s about the overall experience.”
