PV Sindhu makes it to the Verve Power Moment list for being the only Indian woman to win a medal at the BWF World Championships

Inspired by the career of Pullela Gopichand, PV Sindhu started playing badminton 10 years ago, and now trains at the former player’s training facility in Hyderabad. In the past year she’s won gold at the Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold and the Macau Open Badminton Championships, but her bronze at the Badminton World Federation World Championships, coming after over 30 years since the last Indian to medal in the singles, brought her the most glory.

Biggest strength: Sindhu’s commitment doesn’t go unnoticed; her can-do attitude goes a long way towards her ability to win. And that makes her a feared opponent.
