On her return from the Cannes Film Festival, Ashi Dua – the brain behind Bombay Talkies and Flying Unicorn Entertainment – revels in her ongoing romance with the screen

She paid an ode to 100 years of Indian cinema with her production, Bombay Talkies. Ashi Dua, who launched Flying Unicorn Entertainment, surmounted all hurdles to showcase the unusual film whose four stories were inspired by the marquee and its magic. Ashi states, “I love all the four stories of Bombay Talkies. All the four directors were very easy to convince though I was slightly hesitant to approach Karan Johar. Once he agreed, we were ecstatic. Anurag Kashyap was the first one I approached for he has exposed me to world cinema and I will always be thankful to him for that.” Showing at Cannes in a landmark year for Indian cinema was a high that she will never forget. “Being at Cannes was a wonderful experience. It was creativity at its best. It was an extremely proud moment for us to be there on such a huge global platform representing the celebration of 100 years of Indian cinema.” Post her ode to the movies she has a few scripts for more films ready. She states, “I am looking forward to an exciting journey from here on. This is why I created Flying Unicorn Entertainment in 2006. The company aims to create a niche for itself in the vast opportunities present in the films/TV/events sectors. The content and script will always be king is the basic motto of my company.”
