What is Zara Larsson’s Big Beauty Secret?

Pop sensation Zara Larsson, the voice behind the hit single Uncover, has collaborated with Clinique for their Play With Pop campaign. The interactive music video has Zara in four different make-up looks. The young star shares her beauty diary, tips and make-up tricks…

Tell us about your new single Lush Life…
Lush life is a fun song; it’s basically about meeting people and having fun.

Which version from Clinique’s Play With Pop is your favourite, for the genre and for the make-up look?
I think my favourite is the dance version with the dark vixen make-up look. I loved wearing wigs so my favorite makeup looks were definitely the ones where I had to wear one!

What is your signature beauty look?
I usually wear a cat eye-liner. If I do my own make-up, I wear a thick and long eye-liner. I’m kind of a bronze-y girl, so I don’t like to wear bright pinks.

What is your favourite make-up item to play with?
I think lipsticks are great because it can really change your look with one simple step. I am sometimes shy to go out with red lipstick on week nights but I would love to do it more often.

Does adding a pop of colour change your mood?
Adding a pop of color just makes it more fun. I usually wear a lot of dark clothes, so just to pop it up makes it a lot more fun and interesting.

Where do you look up to for beauty inspiration?
I look for beauty inspiration in my idols, Rihanna and Beyonce. Rihanna is so much fun; she changes her looks every day. You never know what Rihanna is going to wear and how she is going to look with it, I like how unpredictable she is.

Do you have any beauty tips you swear by, especially when you’re performing? 
I think it’s all about moisturising and keeping your skin hydrated. My skin care routine has no secrets, I wash my face every day, take off my make-up, exfoliate and moisturise.
