WIFW Fashion Report: Rahul Mishra
The accolades are racing fast and furiously into his kitty and very well deserved judging by the meticulous thought put into this collection. The lotus and the Tree of Life took centre stage, blooming from subtle patters to full-gown vivid shapes. Peekaboo skirts with intricate thread work jackets made for elegant viewing. But the ultimate prize went to the bandhini textured dresses, developed especially by Mishra to merge Merino wool with an earthy, unabashedly Indian technique. The tie & dye print on specially crafted Merino wool jersey was another successful ideation given that most of the country experiences tropical winters. Mishra has definitely created a huge buzz and it’s going to be exciting to see where this line of thought takes him in the future.
