WIFW Fashion Report: Abraham & Thakore
The grand masters of textile and weave did it yet again. Raising the bar to new levels with a crisp showing that won major points for its impeccable styling, the duo of Abraham & Thakore presented what contemporary India should really be all about. An open flap sherwani with unfinished edges and a soft Nehru collar, Safari-esque belted jackets around which two-toned saris draped themselves into cowled shawl collars, clean-cut kurta styles with oversized coats enveloping them. All brought together with metallic leather belts sporting phone pouches, tan mojris and a selection of silks from all over the country – Tussar, Eri, Muga and wild silks – distinguished by weave or Ikat and cheetah prints. Truly the show of the season.
