Tribal inspiration
“The Bishnoi community live by a set of codes that celebrate nature and call upon people to protect both plants and animals. The simplicity of their lives and the beauty that surrounds them inspired this collection. Their philosophy of protecting plants and animals is very relevant in the world we live in and I hope this collection will educate people about sustainable living and encourage them to follow suit.”
Subtle symbolism
“The khejri tree, a key motif in my collection, alludes to the resilience of a woman who withstands unforgiving conditions while branching out, supporting life and laughter. For me, the tree is also special because it gives back to the land it stands in, much like a woman does.”
Weaves and techniques
“We have custom-woven the tree motif on Benares textiles for this collection. We have also partnered with the women of SEWA in Gujrat to infuse their exquisite hand-embroidery into the trees and bird motifs in this collection.”
A piece from the collection for the Verve woman
“The emerald green lehenga-choli paired with the dupatta fastened with an obi belt is perfect for the elegant Verve woman. I’d add flat embroidered shoes and a stunning jadau necklace to complete the look.”
