Cast A Spell

Text by Wyanet Vaz

If you think bright and sparkly is over-rated, M.A.C has teamed up with Disney to create a Maleficent collection, for purely evil purposes

With the Maleficent trailer popping all over my Facebook feed, I was intrigued by the story line that decodes the reason Sleeping Beauty’s iconic villain switched to the dark side. Fairytale banter aside, you cannot miss Angelina Jolie’s dark and sultry looks – defined by razor sharp cheekbones, glossy red lips and piercing eyes. (Read more about the Vampires and Witches here). Beauty lovers can claim a similar look, now that M.A.C has launched a limited edition Maleficent collection, so you can be evil inside and out!

Highlights of the collection:

Maleficent True Love’s Kiss Amplified Lipstick

We must gush here. If you are looking for seductive red, it’s time to visit the nearest M.A.C outlet before this particular lipstick is out of stock. It goes on like a dream, and gives a good amount of colour and sheen. This is the wet and glossy look that you thought could only be achieved using Photoshop.

For dramatic but lazy girls, these faux lashes have proved to be a convenient bet. We recommend, you top it up with dark eye-makeup and crisp lines. Remember, a cat flick wouldn’t let you down.

Maleficent Eyeshadow Quad

While you look at it as separate blocks it may not seem very exciting, but blend all four shades and you’re in for a treat. Goldmine, Concrete, Carbon and Ground Brown all work well on Indian skin tones adding the right amount of depth with minimal shimmer.
