Louis Vuitton’s Cruise Diary 2015

For Louis Vuitton’s first cruise catwalk, Nicolas Ghesquière shook up the wardrobe with mixed genres and peculiar layering. The Palais Princier Monaco belonged to LV as fashion witnessed a grand upheaval

Monaco – the second smallest country in the world – scored on the fashion scene, as Louis Vuitton showcased its cruise collection amidst an eager A-list audience. Set within a glass box room, the catwalk was lined with swirling couches and LED video screens. French artist Ange Leccia created a film with water undulating over pebbles, so it was almost like models walking over digital water.  Nicolas Ghesquière added a fresh touch of modern with sharp python jackets, tailored A-line suits with mismatched prints, leather coats with ruffled finishes, chunky heeled sandals and envelope-shaped bags. Re-writing cruise, Ghesquière breeds a whole new approach to fashion with a seventies-inspired colour palette, bold technique and complete fearlessness.
