Karisma Kapoor’s Style Evolution

This veteran star knows how to keep it clean and chic

Karisma Kapoor, started her career before Hindi films underwent a style revolution, before Manish Malhotra introduced Bollywood to Fashion. She was a total chameleon on-screen, transforming herself to play diverse characters in her films from Dil To Pagal Hai to Zubeidaa and Fiza. Off screen, while her initial style saw more misses than hits – think frosty lips – her style in recent years has become extremely refined. Karisma’s clean and chic style is evident in her choice of simple, modern classics – well-fitted denims, high heels and a feminine blouse or crisp shirt are her staples. Her Indian wear choices are more festive and regal, always paired with exquisite jewellery. While not particularly experimental otherwise, she manages to pull off a variety of silhouettes with ease – from flowing anarkalis to structured Anamika pieces.

While we like her usually fuss-free but put together hair and make-up, we love when she wears a bright pop of colour on her lips.

She describes her own style as ‘classic chic’, stating that she loves to “dress very elegant with a twist”. Her pedigreed style shows in her carriage, her quiet poise.
