Speeding through the arid desert, Johnny Depp is a man on a mission. What’s he plotting?
What happens when a pirate of the Caribbean meets a lone ranger? The answer is: You’ll still get a very dandy-looking Johnny Depp. Driving his vintage Dodge Charger, in the middle of an arid desert, our favourite posh pirate is the face of Dior’s new fragrance Sauvage.
Depp tries to fit in various aspects into the 80-second clip which even includes a bit of music-making in the start. Sand dunes and empty highways soon eclipse the city lights and high rises, and you’re given a throwback to Depp’s Lone Ranger. He is seen sporting tribal-esque necklaces and wristbands with charms, which he eventually buries into the sand. As he digs deeper and metaphorically loses himself, he is able to find what he was looking for.
And if Johnny Depp says that Sauvage smells like magic, it must be true. So, for once, maybe in an alternate universe. the eccentric pirate did manage to find his treasure.
