In Conversation With The Gen Next Designers At LFW Winter/Festive 2017

Integument by Deepak Pathak
On his design philosophy
“Integument reflects my love for unconventional silhouettes and a restricted, darker palette. It talks about a new form of minimalism with a focus on volume and texture. There is a balance that is wholesome with a twist in the conventional tailoring and pattern-making. I believe in creating balance and harmony in my garments and treat them as a canvas to mirror my mindset.”
On his showcase at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017
“The collection sprung from my reminiscence of the Bengali fishermen. The garments are draped, twisted and tucked with immaculate tailoring and clean lines in an uncluttered winter palette of black and grey. The artworks are doodled from pure nostalgia and the showcase is inclined towards suiting fabrics. My preference for heavy fabrics and textiles has lent a particular slant to the sartorial language of my ensembles.”
