Here’s Why You Should Head To The IMC Ladies’ Wing Exhibition

The IMC Ladies’ Wing exhibition returns this year with a perfect mix of entrepreneurship and creativity

A unique venture which will have about 200 skilled designers and business owners from across the country showcase apparel and jewellery, along with lifestyle, personal care, gourmet and home decor products, the Ladies’ Wing of Indian Merchants’ Chamber (IMC) are back in Mumbai with their much-awaited Women Entrepreneurs (WE) exhibition this month. Having earned its name as the shopping destination for those with an eye for the best, the theme for the extravaganza is ‘Soar — Rise to Your  Potential’. Radhika Nath, president of the Exhibition Committee, says, “This year is about empowering women to make the most of their opportunities, inspiring them to believe in themselves and give form to their dreams.” It is a clarion call for ladies all over to take charge and overcome professional and personal barriers to break new ground in their fields.

Opening their doors to the city’s crème de la crème, the event will see passionate participants present their work and talents. Also on offer are high-quality gifting options by Nitika Malhotra of Just Exotique and meticulously crafted garments by Shivani Awasthy. And get ready to be impressed by Saucery’s Gayatri Bhatia, who will show off her cooking skills by making some mouth-watering sauces.

Anuja Mittal, chairperson of the committee, comments, “A collector’s paradise, it features the best upcoming designers and culinary experts from across the country in one location; revealing the latest trends and styles to suit all your home and fashion needs.”

The Exhibition Advisory Committee, comprising Anuradha Mahindra and Dipali Goenka, alongside distinguished members Kalpana Singhania, Bharti Gandhi, Minal Bajaj, Sheila Kripalani, Parul Patel, Neelu Premnarayen, Kalpana Shah, Avanti Birla, Bindu Kapoor, Vanita Bhandari, Sushma Arya, Rekha Jhunjhunwala, Sharvari Luth, Manisha Pamnani, Piya Ramsinghani, Surbhi Ghatlia, and young entrepreneur Kriti Bajaj, have conceptualised a mobile app — IMC Women’s Exhibition 2016 — which aims to make the experience convenient for shoppers. Equipped with thorough details about the brands and their goods, the app — available on both iOS and Android — will help patrons locate stalls around the venue.

Director of Ghanasingh Fine Jewels (Kamlesh Hemdev Group) and co-chairperson of the committee, Kaushika Hemdev, shares, “We are proud to announce this year’s edition with great enthusiasm. Renowned personalities like Kanika Kapoor, Sanvari Alagh Nair, Madhu Shah, Reshma Merchant and Perveez Aggarwal will come together under one roof this year too.”

Unique to the expo is the exclusive merchandise from women who don’t have established retail outlets in Mumbai. It will also host a B2B meet, where multi-brand stores will be previewing collections on display, before the event opens to the public.

Staying true to its strong legacy of philanthropy, IMC supports NGOs through the sale of products at the two-day extravaganza. Over the years, it has become a much coveted occasion on the city’s upscale social calendar.

The IMC Ladies’ Wing Women Entrepreneurs exhibition will take place at the Dome @ NSCI, Mumbai on August 23 and 24, 2016.
