Gucci’s Ready-to-wear SS 2015 collection decoded
Frida Giannini unleashed her 70s spirit during the making of this spring-summer collection. Taking a trip to the wild side, the brand ditched the usual gowns that have always dominated the runway. We are glad, that for Gucci, the forthcoming summer is all about young and experimental fashion.
The Roman fashion house amplified the concept of more-is-more with lushly printed silk-pyjama suits and tunics with decorated gold leafing. Models were seen flaunting the Grace Kelly-like neck scarves worn flawlessly over denim dresses. Inspired by the Orient, evening wear consisted of mini-dresses with plunging necklines, floral embroidery and exquisite beading. The Japanese-like print gave the ensembles a dizzyingly rich feel.
But the main protagonist of this showcase was the new version of the Jackie Soft. With webbing straps in suede, calfskin and croc, this one has made it to our bucket-list. The chunky heels, suede boots and messenger bags, all in polished antique tan, rounded up a signature Gucci collection.
